This Return & Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through Margaret Toronto and is designed in accordance with applicable Canadian consumer protection laws, including the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
1. General Policy
At Margaret Toronto, we are committed to providing high-quality products. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return under the conditions outlined below.
2. Return Period
Customers have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return.
After this period, return requests may not be accepted unless required by law (e.g., defective or misrepresented products).
3. Eligibility for Returns
- Be unused and in original condition
- Be returned with original packaging
- Show no signs of excessive wear or alteration
- Include valid proof of purchase
4. Non-Returnable Items
- Final sale or clearance items
- Gift cards
- Custom-made or personalized products
- Hygiene or personal-use items (where applicable)
5. Return Process

Returns sent without prior approval may be rejected.
6. Return Shipping Costs
- If the return is due to customer preference: the customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- If the return is due to our error (wrong, defective, or non-compliant product): we cover reasonable return shipping costs

Margaret Toronto applies a responsible distribution model aimed at reducing the environmental impacts associated with reverse logistics.
Each return results in, among other things:
- Additional emissions related to transportation (initial shipment and return)
- Non-recoverable packaging losses
- Inspection, cleaning, and reintegration costs into inventory
- Commercial depreciation of the returned product
As a result, eligible returns are subject to Environmental and Logistical Recovery Fees, reflecting the actual costs and value loss incurred.
After inspection, a refund may be granted up to a maximum of 50% of the product purchase price, depending on:
- The physical condition of the product
- The integrity of the packaging
- The potential for resale
- The logistical and environmental costs incurred
The exact amount will be determined after evaluation of the returned product.
Initial shipping fees are non-refundable.
8. Alternative Options (Recommended)
- Store credit equal to 100% of the product value
- Exchange for another available item
This option helps reduce waste and unnecessary transportation emissions.
9. Defective or Non-Conforming Products
Under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, products must:
- Match their description
- Be of acceptable quality
- Be fit for their intended purpose
If a product is defective, incorrect, or not as described, you are entitled to:
- Replacement
- Repair (where applicable)
- Full refund
These rights take precedence over any other policy section where legally required.
10. Order Cancellation
Orders may only be cancelled if they have not yet been processed or shipped.
Once shipped, the order must follow the standard return process.
